DIENES has made a significant contribution to occupational safety by developing the additional function 360° safety hand guard.
The higher degree of safety is achieved by a simple but effective mechanism that utilizes the vertical movement of the knife to execute the pivoting movement of the safety element. In order to reduce the relatively high accident rate when handling cutting tools, this is a sensible safety tool to consider when purchasing or replacing pneumatically operated shear cut knife holders.
Using the additional function 360° safety hand guard

This hand guard is attached directly to the knife holder. It prevents the hand from reaching between the knives while the machine is running. The shear cut knife holders that are equipped with the safety hand guard have a movable safety element that releases the cutting edge before the cutting knife holder is activated and completely covers it after the cutting process is completed. This is achieved by a mechanism that utilizes the vertical movement of the knife to execute the swiveling movement of the safety element.
The differnet DIENES hand guards are specially designed to meet customer requirements. For example, there is the hand guard with knife lubrication, whereby the cutting edge quality is considerably improved when cutting adhesive-stained films, papers and metal foils, or also the hand guard in combination with a suction hood.
