Rotary cut
In rotary cutting, special knives are used in scrap choppers and granulators, among other applications. A typical application is recycling, for example in the plastics and paper industry.
The material is shredded by means of a different number of rotor knives and stator knives. Depending on the machine concept, the rotor and stator knives are arranged in parallel. In this case, large peak loads occur during the cutting process. If the rotor and stator knives are arranged at an angle, however, a pulling cut is present, which significantly reduces the knife load.
