Twin Cut
Top to top is an innovative cutting process invented by DIENES. The process, also known as the “Twin-Cut” principle, is based on the fact that a pointed top knife is used instead of the classic bottom knife, as is common in sheeters. In conventional systems, on the other hand, the bottom knife is designed as a carbide cup knife. With the “Twin-Cut” principle, however, the respective pair of circular knives now penetrates the paper webs from both the top and bottom layers. Due to a DIENES invention, the cutting point is shifted to the center of the material to be cut, regardless of the number of layers. Only in this way, a uniform cut quality is given in all layers and it can be achieved basis weights of up to 1,000 g / m².
The prerequisite for this novel cutting process is a tangential material inlet. In addition to the knives and knife holders suitable for this, we offer in particular complete slitting systems that can realize this cutting process.
