Heated cutting with DIENES

To minimise the adhesion of the adhesive to the knife edges, DIENES has developed the heatable crush cut knife holder PQAS BH.By heating the knives to approx. 70° C, adhesive is prevented from adhering to the knife edges. This significantly improves the cutting result.

Use of the knife holder PQAS BH

The heated cut is used for processing paper and plastic films coated or impregnated on both sides with adhesive (hot melt adhesive) for label and sticker production. With the cold cutting processes used up to now (crush and shear cut), the adhesive coating sticks to the knife edges and leads to web breaks and poor cut edges in the short term.
